Amazing God

I couldn't think of a better title for this post! And by the way, it is nice to be back to share what God has done. I know..it's been wayyy too long since I have written. This past year has been one HUGE challenge and I have actually struggled trying to get a good post up. I wrote an update a while ago but I accidentally deleted it. I figured, I just wanted to write when I knew I had something good to write about and well, I also get swept up in the craziness of life. At the moment, God has opened up a perfect opportunity for me to share just how AMAZING HE IS!!!

There are times I get so discouraged when I pray and pray a lot but don't see any visible movement. I would wonder why nothing is happening and start to feel like its something I haven't done or have done that these prayers aren't coming to pass. I hope that as you read this you will see (maybe you have thought the same) that it isn't true. At times, there is nothing we can do more or less of than to just pray. In fact, prayer is one of the most powerful tools we have as Christians. Here is a great testimony that proves God moves and that is all we have to do, when that is all we can do.

If I remember correctly, early last year I removed myself from facebook. I went through a season where I just got sick of it and honestly wanted nothing to do with it anymore. I got to my breaking point with people and facebook in general. I had a lot of people from high school add me and I had a lot of people from different churches on my friends list. I didn't care, I needed to get OFF. So, in order to do that and having no intention to return...I deleted everyone and deactivated my account. I started going through a very difficult time toward the end of the summer and decided to get back on but would limit my use of it. I also prayed that God would help me to use facebook for His glory and I have been pretty satisfied on it even now. However, recently...I received a friend request from someone I use to go to junior high with. He knew one of my brother's and even though we were just aquaintances, I do remember him. I don't remember much of that particular time though. Haha. Anyway, I accepted the friend request and shortly thereafter, I had a message from him (out of courtesy I will leave his name out unless I get approval to tell). He told me that he looks forward to my posts and hopes that we can talk sometime. He had recently been called by God and started going to church and Bible study to bring happiness and health to his life in this chaotic world. He wanted to get ahold of me right after it all happened but he couldn't find me (I assume before I decided to return to fb). He admitted that he unfriended me because he always got my posts about God and the Bible and he was in the point of his life where it was all about himself. Not anymore! He is now open to learn as much as he possibly can about the Scripture and living in the light of Christ. He said that anytime I would like to share the word with him, He'd be willing to listen. I had no idea he unfriended me but it was nice of him to be honest in telling. We have been in touch since and it is cool to talk about God and life.

There are times I don't understand the ways God works. In fact, I rarely ever understand. But I do know that it is okay to not always understand, all I have to do is simply trust the Lord. Picture a bright flame in the darkness and moths. Some moths come near and some avoid the light. It is the same with people. Just about everyone in my life are aware or become aware that I am a Christian. I follow Jesus! I'm not perfect of course and trust me, I am still a sinner in need of Jesus just as much now as I was before. I was so excited after reading this message from someone I had no idea was being impacted by God. I now rest assured that God is working in the lives of all the people I pray for. I may not always find out what God is doing or what He has done on this earth but I will definitely know when I'm in heaven. This has encouraged me to BE STILL AND KNOW THAT HE IS GOD! -Psalm 46:10. And I hope that you also will take this time to be still. Know that God is watching over everything that is happening here on earth and He is near to the very people we pray for. Do not grow weary in doing good! Until next time...keep praying! Keep trusting! God's hands are moving!!
